Opportunities for adult education are an important element in what our shul can offer its members.
A regular feature of our calendar is “Whisky and Wisdom”, a weekly discussion group held on Zoom, when participants, under the guidance of Rabbi Daniel, explore the ideas and philosophies of Jewish sages, both ancient and modern, over a glass of their favourite tipple.
In addition, we have hosted many internationally-renowned speakers of the highest calibre at our shul. Among the wide variety of topics covered in recent times have been medical ethics, the workings of the IDF, the impact of screen use on our teenagers and the latest innovations in kosher-certified foods. We have also welcomed a first-hand account of the October 7 attack on a kibbutz, and a one-man play presented by an Israeli theatre company.
As well as high-quality guest speakers, members enjoy regular presentations and discussions conducted either by Rabbi Daniel or other community leaders on many differing aspects of Judaism and the festivals.
